Yes, WCCG Distance Challenge is back 🙂
Do commit a distance and ride it out from 15th Sept to 15th Oct. We ride to commemorate the World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th of Sept and World Mental Health Day on 10th of Oct
Regular cycling isn’t just good for your physical health: it also benefits your mental wellbeing. Riding a bike is relaxing. If you’re stressed at work, you can often burn it off by cycling home. And if you’re dealing with a more serious problem, cycling can help you regain some balance in your life. Let's encourage everyone to start their cycling journey !!
Categories are 300km or 500km or 1000+km, choose any one as you like. Complete the distance from 15th Sept to 15th Oct, 2021 and track it on strava (should be linked to chennaicyclists website) and add the last hex badge on your trophy case for this season.

What are the distance categories and when is the last date to register for this event?
We have 3 categories 300km, 500km, 1000+km. Last date to register for this event is Sept 14th, 2021. No registrations will be allowed after that.
Where do I need to ride to take part in the event?
Anywhere, as long as you cycle. On a road near your home, or commuting to your office, it doesn’t matter. Just pedal! Indoor rides are not considered
How much do I need to ride daily as part of the event?
Just plan your daily ride distances depending on the distance you had committed. You must pay close attention to your body and listen for any signs of problems, and stop if needed. There are no winners in this event for the maximum distance covered. Ride a distance which you are comfortable with.
Are manual entries considered?
Nope, manual entries in strava is not considered
Are virtual rides considered?
Nope, virtual rides are not considered
Should I post my daily data in event page?
No, thats not needed. We would track the rides automatically.
If I had registered for 1000+km but I was able to complete only 500km. Will I get the medal?
Definitely NO. The challenge is all about your commitment and you achieving it.. If you had committed 1000+km, only if you finish 1000km or above, you will get the medal.
If I had registered for 500km, but I completed 1000km. Will I get the 1000km Finisher medal?
NO. The challenge is all about your commitment and you achieving it. If you had committed only 500km, even if you finish 1000km or above, you will get the 500km Finisher medal only.
Note: Tracking your rides using STRAVA is MANDATORY which would help us track your progress automatically. Ensure that your strava is linked with in Chennai Cyclists website.
