CC Team Distance Challenge 2025
The 6th edition of Chennai Cyclists Team Distance Challenge is back with a Bang!!
Form your own Team and participate in one of the Four Challenge Categories. The Challenge Starts on Jan1,2025 and ends on Jan31,2025 during which you have to accumulate your Team mileage. The main goal of this Challenge is to stimulate team spirit. So it’s not the individuals efforts that counts but the Team’s collective efforts which earns the honour.
Challenge Categories:
- Avengers 1250 Kms - 4 members
- Dominators 2000 Kms - 4 members
- Vikings 3500 Kms - 4 members
- Titans 5000 Kms - 5 members
To qualify for the Finisher Medal, the Team Aggregate Mileage should be Above Selected km category, and each Rider should ride minimum of 500 km for Dominators/Vikings/Titans. Avengers' category the rider should have minimum of 300 km.
Important Note - All teams members of the team shall register individually (Registration charge is ₹200 per person). All 4/5 team members are requested to ensure to give the same Team Name.

What’s the duration of the Team Distance Challenge - January? Event will start on Jan 1st, 2025 and finish on Jan 31st, 2025
Please mention your Team Name while Signing Up. In case you are unable to find team mates, reachout to your respective Chapter Organizers to help you form the teams.
What is the minimum km a rider in the team should ride? For Dominators/Vikings/Titans, rider should ride minimum of 500 Km. Avengers' category the rider should have minimum of 300 Km.
One of my team member had ride only for 200 km but other team member have covered his km. Will we be eligible for the Medal? No your team will not be considered a challenge finisher, the rider should cover minimum distance.
What are the distance categories and when is the last date to register for this event? We have 4 categories Avengers 1250 Km (4 members Team) Dominators 2000 Km (4 members Team), Vikings 3500 Km (4 members Team), Titans 5000 Km (5 members Team) Last date to register for this event is Dec 31st, 2024. No registrations will be allowed after that.
I registered on the given link, but did not receive any confirmation email. What now? Don’t worry. No confirmation email is being sent when you register. You are confirmed automatically if you had registered. Start your rides asap in Jan 2025.
Where do I need to ride to take part in the event? Anywhere, as long as you cycle. On a road near your home, or commuting to your office, it doesn’t matter. Just pedal! Indoor rides are not considered
How much do I need to ride daily as part of the event? Just plan your daily ride distances depending on the distance you had committed. You must pay close attention to your body and listen for any signs of problems, and stop if needed. There are no winners in this event for the maximum distance covered. Ride a distance which you are comfortable with.
Should I post my daily data in event page? No, thats not needed. The volunteers would automatically pull out the data from your app.
How will you validate the data submitted by riders then? Very good question and the most asked one. No manual entries are allowed. There are finisher medals for all the participants who complete their target. Do not cheat, its finally a sense of satisfaction of taking part in this challenge, and the health and lifestyle benefits which automatically comes from your regular rides.
How will I be able to see details of my progress etc? Directly in the Chennai cyclists website -> https://rider.chennaicyclists.com/activities
If I had registered for 5000km but my team together was able to complete only 2000km in Jan. Will we get the medal? Downgrade would only be considered in exceptional cases and organizers decision is final is this regard.
Will the indoor cycling be considered? No, Indoor cycling will not be considered in the challenge.
Will rides marked as Private be considered? No, Rides marked as private will not be calculated.
Will Manually entries Accepted ? No, manual Strava updates will not be accepted and tagged activities will be nullified on both riders.
One of my Team-Mate is inactive, Can I change my teammate? You can change your team mates prior to the start of the challenge, i.e. on or before 31.12.2024. You can inform to any of the Organisers mentioned in the event description. Once the Challenge starts it is the responsibility of the respective members to ensure that all of their team members perform to fulfil the challenge criteria. No request for change of team members will be entertained after the Jan Team Distance Challenge begins.
