RUSH CRIT /// RC6

The RUSH CRIT is a Criterium race.

• A criterium, or crit, is a bicycle race consisting of several laps around a closed circuit, the length of each lap or circuit ranging from about 400 m to 1500 m.
• Rush CRIT circuit : ~ 1.12KMS

• The selected course for RUSH crit is a combination of tight and rounded 90 degree turns along the lap with two straight open stretches to catch up on speed.
• Riders will be given a couple of laps before the race commences to get the feel of the course and study the same.

Ride Date: Sunday, 13 March 2022.

Rider Categories:

Riders will be split into two Categories:

• ROOKIE A rider who is being introduced to race in groups.Amateur who is new to ROAD/CRIT racing.
• RAD A rider who is at the top table in the local races and is proficient to race in groups. A rider who has participated in ROAD/CRIT races.

Both categories will be MIXED, with riders from Men's/Women's/U-18/Masters.

Online Registration fee per Rider will be Rs.250. Last Minute Registration fee on event day per Rider will be Rs.350. Online registrations close at 2.00 PM on 12th Mar 2022.

RUSH CRIT /// RC6 - FAQs

Points to be noted:

• It will be a flag off start , maintain Social distancing at Start point.
• Helmet is compulsory.
• Aero bars are not allowed.
• Race Director decision is final
• Ride cautiously,Riders are responsible for their own safety.

Race Format

• The race will be timed to 45 Minutes.
• The race will happen in two groups one for Rookie category and one for RAD category.
• Slow riders of the category might get lapped out by the lead peleton.
• If you get lapped by the lead peleton, your race is over. You are to keep riding and find an safe exit off the course.
• An alarm will be raised when the lead peleton crosses finsih line with just enough time to complete a lap at the end of the said 45 minutes.( Average lap time on the course during mock race was 2 mins 15 secs)
• First three riders to cross the finish line in the respective categories will be awarded podiums.

Participartion in any one Time trial race in the last 3 months is mandatory. It can be any RUSH or MRC race for Chennai riders. For people outside Chennai any of their local amateur racing circuits is applicable.
