Road Safety Awareness Mass Cyclothon

Are you excited, ready and geared up for WCCG’s signature Annual event- Chennai Cyclists Mass Cyclothon??

As an event dedicated every year to the celebration of the World Bicycle Day (3rd June), this year the Chennai Cyclists Mass Cyclothon is going to be held on Sunday 16th June 2024. Do mark your calendars!

In addition to unifying cyclists of all levels across Chennai through this gala event, this year’s Mass Cyclothon has a greater objective- “Emphasising the need for Equitable and Safe Roads for Cyclists and other Non Motorised Transportation users.”

The Chennai Cyclists Mass Cyclothon 2024 is not just a mass event. This is our unified voice to spread the happiness that cycling brings, and to reiterate our right for equity and safety on the city roads. There is strength in numbers, so more participants means louder our demand for Equitable and Safe Roads in Chennai. Be a part of this positive change!!!

Event Date: 16th June 2024

Categories: This year’s Mass cyclothon will have 4 categories: 10 Km, 25Km categories for beginners 50 Km category for the mid-level riders 100 Km for those who want to test their endurance on the saddle

Start Point: Rani Lady Meyyammai Higher Secondary School, 3/2 1st Main Road Gandhi Nagar Adyar Chennai 600020

Route information will be shared with all registrants of all categories shortly

Registration Fees: INR 549 inclusive of taxes for all categories. Rentals costs INR 300 extra.

All participants would receive the following -

• Mass Cyclothon 2024 T Shirt
• WCCG's signature hospitality through a sumptuous breakfast and well thought out refreshments enroute
• All category finishers will receive a special finisher medal
• 100km category finishers will receive the Mass Cyclothon Hex badge in addition to the medal

The ride is fully supported with mechanical and medical support.

INDEMNITY FORM

I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT BY ACCEPTING THIS DOCUMENT, I AM RELEASING "WE ARE CHENNAI CYCLING GROUP" AND THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS, EMPLOYEES, MEMBERS, SPONSORS, PROMOTERS AND AFFILIATES (COLLECTIVELY \"RELEASEES\") FROM LIABILITY. THIS ENTRY BLANK AND RELEASE IS A CONTRACT WITH LEGAL CONSEQUENCES. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO READ IT CAREFULLY BEFORE ACCEPTING.

In consideration of the Releases, I hereby freely agree to and make the following contractual representations and agreements. I acknowledge that cycling can be an inherently dangerous sport and fully realize the dangers of participating in a riding the bicycle on highways and FULLY ASSUME THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH PARTICIPATION INCLUDING, by way of example, and not limitation, the following: the dangers of collision with pedestrians, vehicles, other riders, and fixed or moving objects; the dangers arising from surface hazards, equipment failure, inadequate safety equipment, THE RELEASEES' OWN NEGLIGENCE, and weather conditions; and the possibility of serious physical and/or mental trauma or injury associated with riding a bike.

For myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, assignees, and successors in interest (collectively \"Successors\") I HEREBY WAIVE, RELEASE, DISCHARGE, HOLD HARMLESS, AND PROMISE TO INDEMNIFY AND NOT TO SUE the Releases and the sponsors of this event, the organizer and any promoting organizations, property owners, law enforcement agencies, all public entities, special districts and properties, and their respective agents, officials, and employees through or by which the events will be held, (the foregoing are also collectively deemed to be Releasees), FROM ANY and all rights and CLAIMS INCLUDING CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE RELEASEES' OWN NEGLIGENCE, which I have or which may hereafter accrue to me and from any and all damages which may be sustained by me directly or indirectly in connection with, or arising out of, my participation in or association with the event, or travel to or return from the event.

I agree it is my sole responsibility to be familiar with the event course, the Release's rules, and any special regulations for the event. I understand and agree that situations may arise during the event which may be beyond the immediate control of the event officials or organizers, and I must continually ride/run so as to neither endanger myself nor others. I accept responsibility for the condition and adequacy of my competition equipment. I will compete wearing a helmet which satisfies the requirements of the Releases Racing Rules or Regulations and that can protect against serious head injury and assume all responsibility and liability for the selection of such a helmet. I have no physical or medical condition which to my knowledge, would endanger myself or others if I participate in this event, or would interfere with my ability to participate in this event.

I agree, for myself and my successors, that the above representations are contractually binding, and are not mere recitals, and that should I or my successors assert my claim in contravention of this agreement, the asserting party shall be liable for the expenses (including legal fees) incurred by the other party or parties in defending, unless the other party or parties are finally adjudged liable on such claim for willful and wanton negligence. This agreement may not be modified orally, and a waiver of any provision shall not be construed as a modification of any other provision herein or as consent to any subsequent waiver or modification.

Every term and provision of this agreement is intended to be severable. If any one or more of them is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that shall not affect the other terms and provisions, which shall remain binding and enforceable.
